Itinerary 

 

DAY 1 – ARRIVE MELBOURNE

Begin your Walkabout tour. We will transfer you from Melbourne Airport to your hotel. You will have a cocktail reception with dinner. The journey will start at 5:30.

Day 2 – Melbourne

Set off on a guided tour to admire the city’s beautiful 19th-century architecture, historic landmarks, and sprawling parks. Explore Carlton Gardens, home of the Royal Exhibition Building. Visit the Melbourne Museum, St. Patrick’s Cathedral, and the Shrine of Remembrance. Pass the Yarra River and the Sports and Arts Precinct, site of the Australian Open. Stroll through Queen Victoria Market. Enjoy an afternoon in Melbourne. Next, enjoy our excursion Phillip Island Penguin Parade.

Day 3 the city at leisure

The day and evening are yours to spend as you wish in remarkable Melbourne. 

Day 4 – Barossa Valley Wines day tour

Adelaide is a cosmopolitan city known for museums, art galleries, and wine. This part of South Australia is unique for its combination of rich European heritage and Barossa lifestyle. There are many hidden rural treasures to be discovered.  Visit some of Australia’s oldest churches, wineries, and historic cottages.

Day 5 – Kangaroo Island day tour

At Southern Ocean Lodge, you’ll visit Kangaroo Island.  They have a signature itinerary of guided island excursions included. You’ll encounter abundant wildlife in a ‘zoo without fences.’ Discover the Island’s unique natural attractions. Try epicurean delights, visit local artists, or encounter wildlife in Australia’s own ‘Galapagos.’ This evening we will fly to Melbourne. 

Day 6 Explore Uluru’s mystéries flight to Queensland

Discover Aboriginal traditions at Uluru (Ayers Rock). Ancient legends speak of this huge monolith. Fly by private charter to the Great Barrier Reef in Cairns, Queensland. After checking into the hotel, we will then take the skyrail over Rainforest Cableway to Kuranda Mountain Village. We will cross the rainforest canopy through Daintree National Park. 

Day 7 – CULTURAL EXPERIENCES Uluru

Learn about Anangu and Australian Aboriginal culture and traditions. Join a guided tour at the base of Uluru, Kata Tjuta, or Cave Hill. Come see Australia with exciting, adventurous and interpretive small group day tours. We can take you further afield to Mt Conner and Cave Hill. Traveling with us gives you the time to learn, absorb, and relax in the heart of Australia. 

Day 8 Cruise to the Outer Great Barrier Reef

This is a special day for your Walkabout journey. The Great Barrier Reef is the only living structure visible on earth from the moon. Cruise the Agincourt Reef for swimming, snorkeling, diving, and a glass-bottom boat ride. See the underwater discoveries on the edge of the Australian Continental Shelf. We then return to the hotel for dinner.

Day 9 Optional balloon ride and a day at leisure

Early risers can enjoy an optional hot air balloon ride over the Atherton Tablelands. Spend the rest of the day in the rainforest, spas, or return to the reef. Tonight, enjoy a theme dinner. 

Day 10 Crocodile Adventures and Travel to Sydney

Your Walkabout continues to Hartley’s Crocodile Adventures. Learn about and meet crocodiles, lizards, and snakes. Visit a special enclosure for East Grey Kangaroos, Agile Wallabies, Pademelons, Koalas, Wombats, etc. The presentation tour showcases feeding time as well. After dinner, take a private charter ride to the hotel in Sydney to spend three nights in the heart of town.

DAY 11 – Sydney Sightseeing

Today’s excursions: Pass Darling Harbor and the Royal Botanic Gardens. The Sydney Harbor Bridge is a steel arch bridge across Sydney Harbor.  Step inside the UNESCO-listed Sydney Opera House with a local guide. Go backstage for a tour of one of the most famous architectural wonders in the world. Discover the remarkable story of how the Sydney Opera House’s was designed, conceived and built. Sydney Harbor Dinner Cruise – Experience all that Sydney’s magnificent harbor has to offer from the unique perspective of Sydney’s only authentic timber tall ship.

DAY 12 – Marveling at the Blue Mountains

Glide silently just meters above the rainforest canopy in a six-person gondola Cabin. After, enjoy free time strolling through Kuranda village and the Butterfly Sanctuary. We will transfer you to Rainforest Nature Park. Set on 100 acres of World Heritage Rainforest, this unique and award-winning Eco-friendly tourist attraction hosts Army Duck rainforest tour, Tropical Fruit Orchard, Pamagirri Aboriginal Experience, the Outback Restaurant, and the Colonial Restaurant. Tropical Treats Bar serves refreshment delights grown on-site. Then, board your 90-minute scenic railway journey back to Cairns in the splendor of Kuranda Scenic Rail “Gold Class.”

Day 13 Taronga Zoo Sydney & Free Day

Visit one of the best Zoos in the world. Then, the rest of the day is yours to do as you please.  

Day 14 The City at Leisure

The day and evening are yours to spend as you wish in remarkable Sydney.
